In 2008, the festival expanded to two days. The name of the festival was changed to Super Bock Super Rock in 2009 and remained that way until 2016. NOS, a Portuguese telecommunications company, became the new title sponsor of the festival in 2017 and the festival was renamed NOS Alive.
NOS Alive has taken place at Passeio Marítimo de Algés in Lisbon since 2007. The capacity of the venue is about 25,000 people. The first edition of the festival featured Deftones, The Kooks, and Bloc Party as headliners.
